Good morning Stoughton Residents,
If you received a door hanger and/or any other correspondence regarding the "Pay Your Way" pilot program please understand the following:
- It has been suggested online that the pilot progam is a scam. It is NOT a scam.
- This pilot program was to be tested in one area of Stoughton (Tuesday routes only) for those who chose to opt in as part of the test group. Tuesday was chosen because it is the heaviest/busiest collection day with the greatest number of households collected. IT WAS TO BE VOLUNTARY.
- This OPTIONAL pilot program may not have been for everyone. It was simply a test to determine if there could be cost benefits for small quantity rubbish generators. In response to public comments, we have decided to terminate the pilot program.
- We will continue to research opportunities to decrease the cost of living for our residents, more specifically our seniors.
