Intersection Improvements at Canton St. (Route 27)

What is happening?

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed intersection design improvements at Canton St. (Route 27) at School St. and Summer St. and School St. at Cushing St. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

How will this affect you?

The proposed project consists of the reconstruction of the intersection of Canton St. (Route 27) at School St. and Summer St. and the intersection of School St. and Cushing St., and the roadway segment of School St. between Canton St. (Route 27) and Cushing St. The proposed work will include pedestrian improvements consisting of the installation of new curbing and sidewalks, ADA compliant ramps, crosswalks, replacement of existing sidewalks and cyclist improvements consisting of shared use accommodations with shared lane markings. Traffic improvements will consist of new traffic signal installations at the intersection of Canton St. (Route 27) at School St. and Summer St. and the intersection of School St. and Cushing St
