Public Safety Wellness Program FAQ's

  •  WHAT DOES THE PUBLIC SAFETY WELLNESS PROGRAM DO?

-We provide health and wellness resources directly to the Firefighters and Police Officers of Stoughton

MA. We also offer opportunities to any fire or police department member who seeks to live a better

lifestyle.

  • IS THIS PROGRAM RUN BY A POLICE OFFICER OR FIREFIGHTER FROM STOUGHTON?

-The program is run by the town’s Public Safety Wellness Coordinator. The Wellness Coordinator is a

civilian position through the Town of Stoughton, and is not a direct employee of either the police

department or fire department.

  • HOW DOES THE PUBLIC SAFETY WELLNESS PROGRAM OPERATE ITS PROGRAM?

-Currently the program is funded solely by gracious sponsors and donors to the program who have seen

the need for the program. All donations contributed to the Public Safety Wellness Program GO 100%

toward supporting Stoughton’s First Responders.

  •  WHAT IS WELLNESS WEDNESDAY?

-Wellness Wednesday is one day a week where the Wellness Coordinator will send out material to every

first responder in the fire and police departments. The goal of this is to provide resources to everyone

proactively to encourage healthy life choices.

  • WHAT ARE WELLNESS PRACTICES?

-Wellness practices can be a wide range of things because they differ between each individual. Some

may find that yoga and therapy may work for them, others may find that hiking and journaling work

better. Wellness practices help us manage life’s stresses and struggles to find to the best of our ability.

  •  HOW CAN I HELP THE MISSION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY WELLNESS PROGRAM?

-As of today, we are able to accept bank checks, business checks, and personal checks. These checks are

to be made payable to “Town Of Stoughton” and the memo line to read “Public Safety Wellness

Program” and the envelope address of “Human Resources 10 Pearl Street Stoughton MA 02072”.
