Community Preservation Committee (CPC)

Meeting Information
The Community Preservation Act (CPA) was created by the Massachusetts Legislature to provide cities and towns a way for an entire community to improve its quality of life in a manner that might not otherwise be possible through existing budgets. Stoughton's CPA is augmented by a subsidy from designated state funds. The CPA provides that its funds shall only be used for the purposes of Open Space, Historic Preservation, Recreation and Community Housing. The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) was created by vote of the Town Meeting to make recommendations to Town Meeting for the specific use of the CPA funds and to oversee the proper application of those funds for projects approved by Town Meeting.
The committee's regular monthly meeting is usually on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

The procedure for submitting applications can be found at the link in the blue links menu to "CPA Fund APPLICATION FORMS". That link will take you to a page with all the new guidelines and forms, including a new Timeline for Applicants and a new Applicant's Checklist -- both for your own use. It also provides links to key Town of Stoughton planning documents like the Open Space and Recreation Plan that your application may need to refer to.
Due to the pandemic, the committee has been meeting online. Our agenda listings will all have the connection information so you can view our meetings live online when possible. We will make every effort to have our meetings livestreamed on SMAC, but that may not always be possible due to scheduling conflicts. Click the blue "Videos of CPC Meetings" link for videos of recent meetings.
