Firearms Licensing - Renewal Applicant

Renewal Applicant Instructions

Renewal applicants will no longer be required to schedule an in-person appointment. Completed LTC/FID applications (PDF), a completed Notice to Firearms Licensing Applicants form (PDF), and a credit card payment can be submitted directly. Please note that this is the preferred (and quickest) method of renewal. A receipt will then be sent to the supplied email address. This receipt will reflect the date of submission and serve as coverage under the indefinite grace period (if applicable) until you receive your new license in the mail.

If you are unable to submit these documents and/or payment through City Hall Systems' website (the preferred method) you can mail or drop off the required documents with an included money order or cashier's check (personal checks will not be accepted for mailed in or dropped off applications), enclosed in a sealed envelope, to:

Please note that applications will not be processed until all documents and payments have been received. Submitted documents are retained by the Stoughton Police Department and will not be returned to the applicant.


  • License to Carry Firearms: $100
  • Firearms Identification Card: $100
  • License to Carry Firearms (Retired Law Enforcement): $25
  • License to Carry Firearms (Law Enforcement of an Outside Agency): $25
  • Renewal Applicants 70 Years of Age or over: $0
