About the Police Department
The Stoughton Police Department is committed to fostering and maintaining positive relationships with all members of our community. We are driven to provide the highest quality of service possible. Members of the department frequently exceed the expectations of the public when delivering our services. We would be delighted to hear from you when we do our jobs well! Letters are appreciated, but if you don't have the time please fill out one of our compliment/complaint forms (PDF).
Our goal is to ensure that Stoughton Police Department employees are guided by the best policies, principles, and practices available to twenty first century law enforcement. Every individual they come in contact with be treated equally and with dignity and respect. We pledge transparency and will hold ourselves accountable when we under perform.
There is also a system in place that will address complaints. A citizen complaint, and its' subsequent investigation, causes the police to examine the services that we provide and to make improvements when needed.
Each complaint will be accepted in a courteous and professional manner. All complaints will be properly documented and investigated in a timely fashion with appropriate follow up. Anonymous complaints, while accepted, will limit our ability to adequately resolve the issue without corroborating information.
If you wish to file a formal complaint, please print out and fill out the appropriate form, which can be found under the complaint form link to your left. A trained investigator will be assigned and will be in contact with you.
If you would like to immediately speak with a Police Supervisor about the incident please call 781-344-2424 and ask for the Shift Sergeant on duty.
For Records Access requests: please contact 781-344-2424.
If you would care to email me directly, with a compliment or a complaint, please feel free to do so:
