LVM-Stoughton tutor volunteers
are local, dedicated and sensitive people recruited through the
media, at the library and by word of mouth. The majority of volunteers
works at least part-time and do not have prior teaching experience.
After successfully completing 18 hours of intensive training at
the library, newly trained tutors are matched with adult students.
Tutors and students schedule their meetings at mutually convenient
times and meet at the Stoughton Public Library or other public place.
Tutor commitment is working with a student for 2 hours a week for
one year.
