Join the Ames Pond Citizens Committee!

This picture shows the effect of nutrient enrichment  on the pond. Nutrient enrichment has resulted in excessive plant growth in the lake. As the plants die, sedimentation  increases, making the pond  more shallow. Nutrient enrichment, other sources of sedimentation such as runoff from the roads, and poor circulation are accelerating the aging process of the pond.  Without intervention, Ames Pond will continue to degrade and will eventually become a swamp.

The Ames Pond Citizens Committee would like to invite interested residents of Stoughton and Easton to join their distribution list.

The Committee is NOT looking for donations, just the contact information of residents who are interested in restoring this lovely recreational facility. There are grants and other assistance available for the restoration of the pond, however without the support of local citizens, advocating for state grants and local funding becomes near impossible. We need your membership!  To enroll simply e-mail your contact info to:
amespond@gmail.com

Members of the Ames Pond Citizens Committee will receive updates and information relating to the efforts being made restore the pond.

Thank you and please enroll to show your support for your community and Ames Long Pond.
